Mi ha molto colpito il suo modo di leggere le mie cose, e da lì non ci siamo più persi di vista, ed infatti poi sono nati alcuni progetti...alcuni realizzati (i video disponibili in rete) ed altri...si vedrà. Persona rara, e di valore; sia artistico che umano, e non è poco.

Nel tempo la mia scrittura è avanzata ed il suo modo di interpretarla è avanzato di conseguenza e per necessità. C'è stima reciproca, e sincera. Sono percorsi umani che arricchiscono e danno la misura del valore di certe scambi artistici e di certe amicizie.

Ma se quella di Cosmo Blue Hotel era una raccolta di racconti, di prosa, il verso poetico di Lorefice è sempre stato caratterizzato da un tratto non convenzionale. Dai metrò alla “logica del sedimento” del ritorno alle origini, il suo verso si ermetico e complesso: senza punteggiatura (apparente), ermetismo, nessun titolo. Graffiante e complesso per una recitazione ad alta voce, Ivo De Palma, ne crea prima in “La pioggia e altre esperienze…”, un viatico trasversale, per un’impostazione cangiante:ora sarcastic, sweet, and sequenced as a letter to progressive thinking out loud until you explode in a violent and chaotic warmth desecrated, then find a quiet storm, a ribbon to be discovered. In quanto a drammaturgia, nel secondo video Suburban Prayer raffiora una vesta da “memoria del sottosuolo” oscura e illuminante, come una falena contro la luce in cerca d’amore. Più cupa, più intensa, miscelata con un un nuovo ulteriore elemento: i frame video loop di Vj Kar dal mood fluorescente. Straordinariamente differente dal primo video considerando che entrambi hanno come matrice lo stesso libro. Versi poetici interpretati in una miscellanea patchwork di suggestioni.

E se Surbuban Prayer è l'anoima fosca e ombrosa di questo reading, la dolcezza più profonda emerce nell'ultimo tributo, Remainders (reminders) Of... Love..., una velata e tenerissima dichiarazione d'amore sulle immagini del book di Giuliana Mendez.

Insomma, un De Palma dai mille volti in un tempo ristretto e un nome da scoprire per chi non l’ha già fatto quello di Lorefice. Ma approfondiamo ancora di più questo progetto attraverso l’intervista a Ivo,ideatore di questo simposio artistico:

1. Come mi hai già dichiarato, il tuo primo incontro con Stefano Lorefice è stata un reading en passant di Cosmo Blues Hotel. Eppure una qualche aurea particolare ti ha colpito, cosa ti ha spinto di nuovo sulle sue tracce per affrontare L’Esperienza Della Pioggia?

Io e Stefano non ci siamo mai persi di vista, da allora. Avevamo anzi progettato uno spoken words itinerante, basato naturalmente sui suoi testi, che poi, causa problemi miei personali, non fu possibile concretizzare. Nel frattempo, la sua vena compositiva maturava, fino a tornare a piegare la sua voce, e di conseguenza anche la mia, ad una qualche forma di metro, molto libero nella scansione, ma indubbiamente più denso quanto a spessore: il famoso “significato che sta nell’accumulo”, citato dallo stesso Stefano in un suo passaggio. Da un lato mi ha complicato la vita, perché il rigore secco del verso poetico è infinitamente più difficile da interpretare, rispetto al realismo linguisticamente vario e sovrabbondante della prosa. Dall’altro, me l’ha semplificata, perché l’universo espressivo dei giovani e/o giovanissimi metropolitani comincia a farsi un po’ distante dalla mia sensibilità di ragazzo del ’62... Mi ero divertito un sacco a interpretare dal vivo quei passi di Cosmo Blues Hotel, ma già allora mi faceva un po’ specie dar voce ai 20/25enni... diciamo che mi trovo più a mio agio dai 30/35 in su! Oppure, decisamente sul verso poetico di Stefano, che ha spessore e valenze più generali, quindi è, per così dire, senza età.

2. La poesia ai tempi di Lorefice: nessun titolo, nessuna lettera maiuscola, qualche scarna virgola…questa la “scenografia-madre”.Per te, L’Esperienza Della Pioggia, la sua terza raccolta poetica, è stata la prima esperienza con his writing in verse. A seguire il flusso delle parole sembra una sorta di interiorizzazione della colpa, come se impersonassi la maschera del personaggio del carnefice.Spiegami.

La maschera del carnefice l’ho fatta impersonare allo stesso Stefano. In quella sequenza visiva, piuttosto convulsa, appare per ben tre volte un occhio inquietante, di un volto che vediamo solo per metà, quasi nascosto dietro uno stipite e che sembra osservare furtivamente la donna che appare nelle immagini, prima di assalirla. Quella è una delle fotografie più raggelanti di Stefano (che a quanto mi risulta è buono come il pane, sia ben chiaro!). La mia voce, corretta in mix come se provenisse da un radiogiornale, parla della vicenda in modo abbastanza distaccato, dandola quasi per scontata, e riferendo di commenti che vertono su quanto sia immorale una violenza carnale sotto la pioggia, come se in altre circostanze non lo fosse altrettanto. Insomma, uno spaccato di quanto abbiamo ormai fatto l’abitudine anche al peggio.

5. A Suburban Prayer, per quanto mi sembra è nata all’improvviso. In maniera lampante. Il mood è strettamente gotico, così diverso dal precedente.Trattandosi di un progetto tratto dalla stessa raccolta poetica, come nasce questa doppia anima?

L’anima “gotica” di questa appendice è stata influenzata principalmente dalla trascinante colonna sonora di Giampiero. Fino a questo momento avevo utilizzato i suoi brani più tranquilli, cioè più congenial to serve as background to the voice acting. 8. Parlando in generale, Stefano Lorefice è un valido esponente di quel macro mondo italiano della piccola editoria. Tu come giudichi questo settore?

Un serbatoio di novità potenzialmente interessantissimo, purtroppo penalizzato sia in fase promozionale (la tiratura per titolo è la metà di quella media delle grosse case editrici, e d’altronde se nessuno richiede il libro non può essere che così), sia in fase distributiva (rotazione a magazzino e presenza sul punto vendita molto basse). Un circolo vizioso che allontana gli investimenti sui progetti editoriali alternativi. Ma mi rendo conto che non dico nulla di nuovo, né per questo, né per altri settori...
